Smart VZV

The Cepheid Smart VZV performed on the SmartCycler® System, is a qualitative in vitro diagnostic test designed to detect VZV DNA in vesicle swab specimens using proven real-time PCR technology. The Smart VZV kit contains a FAM labelled-Scorpion® primer and a paired non-labelled primer, specific for a portion of VZV DNA. A thermo-stable DNA-polymerase is used in a PCR reaction. A positive control is included. An internal control is simultaneously amplified to ensure that the sample is free of PCR inhibitors.
